Ok, so you have your blog ready to go and you are writing useful content. Your blog is going to explode with traffic now, wait a second slow down. It is not quite that easy, once you get your blog rolling you must then begin to take steps to get traffic to your site.

Here is a list of major tools you can use to generate lots and lots of traffic. I will write more articles about how to accomplish each task in later articles.
  • First make sure you have useful relevant content, if you don't have this right you won't get any traffic.
  • Get Links that point to your website. It is important for two reasons 1. Increases your page rank which brings in Google search engine traffic. 2. Gets links to your site and that brings visitors.
  • Make Videos and post them on You Tube. Then on your You Tube Channel have a link pointing back to your site. If your videos are good enough you will get traffic.
  • Use Social networking sites to help you spread the word about your site. The main ones are twitter, facebook, linkedin, and myspace.
  • Use other websites that promote content such as Digg, Stumble Upon and Technorati.
  • Use  good SEO (Search Engine Optimization) There is a good source of info for that here.
  • Send content to your readers via an email mailing list. A good email program is Icontact.
These are some tools that you can use to bring traffic to your website. If you follow these you will over time have a successful website.
