Blog Review: Green Web Designers

The First Review That I am posting is for Green Web Designers a web developing company that uses Yola websites to design their web pages.

The Green Web Designers Blog is a fairly simple blog but the information is useful to Yola users. I recommend that you read the articles posted because his tips can save a Yola user some time and effort.

The downside is that this is a new blog and there are only two posts and I am hoping he will continue to update the blog.

In my Interview with the Owner Shaquille Ray: he told me some interesting things about himself.
My name is Shaquile Ray, and live in Sydney Australia. I have been blogging for the last 3 months.

This blog contains information about keeping your site safe and out of harm. The blog is aimed at all Yola users. Yola has thousands of users, and not all know what coding, and most editing can do to a website. My blog is online to show my clients and as well as other Yola users, the harm that most coding can do, if not used correctly.

The way I measure my success is via the feedback i receive, and ensuring all my clients are happy and there sites are healthy.

Conclusion:
That concludes my first blog review I will be doing more reviews as time goes on and I hope help many bloggers by sharing tips with these successful bloggers. If you need a web designed youi should give Green Web Designers a shot.

Mission Trip to Guatemala

I will be going on a Mission trip to Guatemala leaving Thursday July 16, and I will be returning Friday July 24th. I am leading a team from Living Hope Church, in Latrobe Pa. We are going to be preaching the Gospel to villagers in the Mountains of Guatemala that may have not heard the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ.

So pray for us while we are gone that God may use us in a great way and that He is glorified.

I will be posting a full report here when I get back, so be looking for that. Until then I will not be posting.

One Good Friend is Worth a Thousand Worthless Ones

Social Media sites are great they are awesome, so much networking power it will totally blow your mind. I mean there are so many people how can you possibly connect with all of them? Yes, twitter is great and you can find some great followers and readers from twitter.

However you cannot have meaningful interaction with all of them.

Do you have any real friends on the net?

So here is what I have done that works well and that is find one person that you think does a great job on thier blog or social media site. Then interact with them send them messages, tweet their posts and link to their posts. The web is full of people that will not go the distance with you, people that will fizzle and quit. That type of friend is easy to find but is it worth it?

They won't add much to the success of your blog and you might end up doing much for them and getting little in return. Find those that are successful that will add benefit to you and you can be benefit to them. The best way to get a valuable friend is to be a valuable friend.

A ledership blog titled Never Mind the Manager says that writing for just 5 people that has meaning is better than writing for a thousand that won't ever interact.

Internet success will not come by yourself. You must get help along the way, I have been fortunate to have many great friends help me and continue to help me in this blog and others and I am thankful for them.

So go out there and find some friends and start getting success on the net.

Yola Blog Reviews

I am going to be starting a new series that is going to profile successful blogs hosted by Yola. I will be reviewing the sites and I will be focusing on blog quality, writing quality, niche, content and over all helpfulness.

This is a diagrammatic representation of Linkbacks. The system of Trackback illustrated here was developed by SixApart, creators of theMovableType blog package.

Its purpose being:

Person A writes something on their blog.
Person B wants to comment on Person A's blog, but wants their own readers to see what they had to say, and be able to comment on their own blog
Person B posts on their own blog and sends a trackback to Person A's blog
Person A's blog receives the trackback, and displays it as a comment to the original post. This comment contains a link to Person B's post

Now the process has expanded and there are now more than one Trackback definition and systems. Unfortunately the community believes that this model is the current and valid system. Why has it changed?

Since 1995 many blog platforms have been developed and not necessarily directly compatible with each other. Newer systems are security conscious and very few allow direct input into a post by the non-owner. This includes electronic notifications such as some of these linkback operations. Another good reason why this has lost the original plan was because of the abuse by spamming blogs. It was literally a click of a button by another writer to paste their pingback on the original blog which may have had quite a good SEO strength. The electronic ping may have been irrelevant in content to the post but the fact that their URL was published meant that it would be recognised by SEO bots. This was an abuse and an annoyance and stopped a lot of bloggers enabling this facility on their blog.

A current model of a Trackback.

The model discussed here is an indirect process. It's the process used by Yola through Disqus.

Each blog post has a unique URL called a PERMALINK. This is a very important aspect and as users we rely heavily on the fact that our blog hosting service will properly index and keep our post indefinitely. It becomes more important for primary reference articles and there's a lot of trust placed in our blog host.

As mentioned very few blog platforms allow direct access to the post from the non-owner and Yola fits this model. Disqus has been deployed with Yola to manage blog comments. Disqus creates its own PERMALINK and this is associated with the blog post. Disqus provides a Trackback for each post. The Disqus trackback is simply a URL. It is static and has no electronic function as the model displayed above. The URL of the Trackback can be copied and pasted into a new document whether it is a blog post or a flow-on comment somewhere. This allows readers to reference the original post and it also creates a link to the original post. It doesn't appear on the original posters site automatically. Many posters would send an acknowledgment with the Trackback to the original poster and presumably if the original poster was impressed they would acknowledge this and refer to this person's blog. This now becomes a link building exercise and is quite valuable. It really is about establishing relations ships.

The blog is gaining a lot of new interest as a sales and marketing tool. It's seen as a valuable medium for these processes and is recognised by SEO systems. The model will surely evolve further very quickly.

Currently the Disqus commentary system used with Yola does not include an electronic Pingback. Disqus have developed pingback for some of their clients' platforms so it is likely that it will appear at some stage.

JS-Kit has recently acquired Haloscan, probably the premiere third comment system. They do have a module pingback and I would think that this will become available as part of the option suites in the future.

The Refback is a semi-automated feature and I haven't seen any reference to its use so I'll leave it as a statement without discussion.

What are the advantages of Trackbacks?

There is the first aspect of recognition and comment. The most functional advantage is the SEO acknowledgment and the viral nature of a subsequent writer using the material and referencing it with the trackback URL. It directs people back to the original blog post and the blog lives on. The numbers game in blogs is important and is becoming more important as marketing targets blogs and sales will follow. The greater the readership the greater the potential number of buyers.

Relationships flourish with acknowledgment and it's likely that the acknowledged writer will also follow the persons who made the acknowledgment. Still the numbers game. Of course there is the authority aspect of a specific blog. A high ranking blog has prestige and SEO power so to be acknowledged and referred to by this higher level can do wonders for the conscientious starter in the field.

That is an important question that every blogger should be asking themselves because it is important to find out how to get the most out of your blog.There is a great ad system available that everyone does not know about yet called Chitika.

Chitika is a great way to place additonal ads along with Google Adsense Ads. Here's how it works: someone goes to a major search engine Google or

This is a winning situation for publishers and I have just recently taken advantage of these ads. So I recommend you try Chitika ads for your website today.

The best location for placing your new ads to get clicks is place the ad directly over or under the title of the content. Also remember the best way to get search engine traffic is to produce lots of quality content, so bloggers keep writing those articles.

Unlock the Key to Search Engine Traffic

Building links is the key to increasing page rank and getting more search engine traffic from Google. Everybody that has a website knows this andwants to build links. The question is how to build links so that I can get that traffic?

I am going to cover 3 ways to get links that can help out a new blogger trying to get some momentum with thier blog and traffic.

If you don't build links you will not get traffic to your site. So obviously you will want to learn how to do this important skill of making your site visible to the world. The first thing you must realize is that it takes time and work to build links.

1. Hard Work

Yes, I know you might not consider sitting in front of a computer all day hard work but getting links takes hard work. You have to plan and create something interesting, helpful and unique. Face the truth if you are not going to put in hard work you will not have success in getting links so you won't get traffic and you wont make money with your blog.

There are literally thousands of techniques and I could talk about them all here but they have already been written about so I don't want to bore you with repeat information. Instead I am going to tell you to take action and work hard if you do you will see the fruit of your labors over time.

2. Doing Guest Posts
Since you are working hard to write award winning content next you have to work hard to build relationships with other bloggers. You can meet other bloggers at sites such as Blog Catalog or forums that relate to your niche. Visit thier blogs often and make comments see if you can begin to build a relationship with them. After a time they will see that you are creating good content and they will let you write a guest post if you ask them.

3. Article Marketing
This is one of the oldest ways of getting links and that is writing unique articles that are not on your website and posting them to article directories. I have done this to create thousands of links to my sites. I have been able to get a google pagerank of 3 and it has brought in a decent amount of traffic.

The links you get from article marketing are not the best links according to google but they still help plus you will get traffic so it is worth the time it takes to write the articles. I have recieved over 100 clicks from submitting articles to Ezine Articles.

There is a web service called Article Marketer that will distribute your article to all the top article directories, which will grow your links quite quickly. I use the service and I have benefited tremendously as I have gained many links. The service has two options a paid service which inludes a complete submission or the free service which is a partial submission. I recommend using the free service because even if you pay for the submission it will not produce income to your blog so you will be spending money you don't have to.

How to Get some Quality Free Content For your Blog.

The trick to having a great website or blog is to write good, quality, useful and interesting content. Content is so important because if you don't have anything interesting to read why will someone come to visit your page? Also content is important because search engines will examine your site and the more content you have the more visitors the search engines will send you.

But seriously who has time to do to write great content? So what is the next best thing?

The answer is a content widget by widget box. This widget box will include all the posts of your favorite blog you just have create a widget box.

My friend Peter created a great widget from Yola Blogger that you can install on your site and you will instantly have access to great content on your site.

This will add value to your site by giving your readers access to additional content that was not developed on your own site. One great tip in blogging is if you send your readers to somewhere valuable they will like you. No reason to be selfish with your blog share links with quality related websites and you will reap the rewards.

New Adsense Update That Will Improve Your CTR

Hello bloggers and webmasters,

I just found out a new trick with Google Adsense and have been testing it. I am happy with the results because I make more money. So here is the scoop, Google just made a way to increase the font size in your Google Adsense Ads and by doing this my CTR(Click Through Rate) has more than doubled.

Double Click Thru Rate means double income so obviously you will want to try this.

So here is how to make it happen.

Login to your Google Adsense Account.
Click on My Account Tab
On that page you will see it say Ad Display Preferences Click there
Then there is a box that says font size
Change the setting to large

Thats it, after making that easy step my adsense has been producing much more income and I have not had any increase in traffic levels. This is a tip worth following.

The Road to a Successful Blog... Is Long and Challenging

Keep working that is what will get you to success. But worth the reward, you can do it, if I can do it you can do it.

Now you are at step 7 good job you have done well in reading this series. Now that your blog is up and you are adding fresh useful fresh content all the time. Now this is where it gets tough. You did all that hard work and no one is visiting your blog. I mean you are getting a measly 20 visitors a month and you are lucky to make .20 cents with Google Adsense.

This is the most critical part of the process because that is so discouraging. When you started this project you did not realize how much work would be involved in the project. Now that you have put hours and hours in, you expect some people to come and see all the work you did. This is critical because many bloggers at this point give up and go home.

That is the wrong thing to do, because you did good work you have just yet to be discovered, don't worry just keep doing what you are doing. Slowly you will begin to see people trickle in and then all of the sudden Boom! You begin to get waves of traffic from Google and the other blogs that have linked to some of your best work.

So the process is this, keep adding fresh content, keep interacting with bloggers in your niche and linking to their good stuff. Then repeat, repeat, repeat and repeat. OK, I hope you get it, it's like a job, you must do this all the time. As soon as your blog becomes stale the new traffic slows down.

Yes, you can earn money from the web but it is no get rich quick plan. It takes hard work and lots and lots of time. Mr I from Blogging With Success says that to be a succesful blogger, when you read a good article (such as this series I just wrote) you actually follow what you read. So in other words TAKE ACTION!

He also lists 7 rules for having a successful blog so after this reading this series go read that and then take action and do what it says.
